/Creuset primaire is a process that links nuclear power and a secular method to kiln argil.
/Nuclear power plants have common points with this ephemeral kiln destroyed by use. Both of them are unpredictable, dangerous, astonishingly powerful, and can produce uncontrolled events. In our case, the risk lies in the experimental cooking process : pieces can end broken.
/A kiln is built. People gather. We ready for the ritual that is to begin.
/Inside the kiln, lucky charms, made to look alike artefacts of the ancients. They are made to recall us the absent power. As the kilning process goes, we remember.
/Through the smoke we glimpse visions of the passed away, climax of their civilisation. bright, vibrating, blinding while the alarm is ringing. Were they aware of the catastrophy or were they mesmerised ?
/ Creuset primaire (Primary Crucible) is to be seen as an art performance about technology and wisedom. Hybrid form combining digital and traditionnal technics to metaphorise about nuclear: usages and risks.
